Ketchikan Police Report Week of January 10. 2019

On 01/10/19 at approximately 2109 hours, Officers responded to the 1000 block of Water Street for a report of a vehicle colliding with a boat trailer. Officers contacted the driver Vincent Morin, age 30. Mr. Morin failed standard field sobriety tests and was arrested for Driving under the Influence. Mr. Morin refused to give a breath sample to the DataMaster and was charged with Refusal to submit to a chemical test. He was transported to the state jail and set to be released on his own recognizance.

On 01/11/19 at about 2054 hours, Officers responded to the 300 block of Bawden Street to take a report of an intoxicated male yelling. Jared Moore, age 28, was contacted and warned regarding Disorderly Conduct. Mr. Moore refused to stop and was arrested for Disorderly Conduct. He was transported to the state jail and set to be released on his own recognizance.

On 01/12/19 at approximately 1143 hours, Ernestine Fawcett, age 40, was contacted in the 400 block of Mission Street due to her having an outstanding bench warrant. Ms. Fawcett was arrested and transported to the state jail where she was held without bail.

On 01/12/19 at approximately 1858 hours, Officers responded to the Peace Health Medical Center for a report of a Ketchikan Correctional Center Officer requesting immediate assistance due to an inmate fighting with the officer and attempting to escape. Officers contacted inmate Jason Simpson, age 35, who was arrested for Assault in the Second Degree and Escape in Second Degree. He was transported to the state jail where he was held without bail.

On 01/12/19 at approximately 2051 hours, Officers responded to the 2000 block of Sea Level Drive due to a report that Cody Johnson, age 23, was violating his conditions of release. Mr. Johnson was contacted and found to be in violation of his conditions. He was arrested for Violating Conditions of Release and transported to the state jail. He was held without bail.

On 01/14/19 at approximately 0510 hours, Officers responded to a Nordstrom Drive address for a report of a possible assault and violation of conditions of release. Charles A. Bertoch, age 46, was contacted and arrested for Assault in the Fourth Degree – Domestic Violence, Unlawful Contact in the First Degree and Violation of Conditions of Release. Mr. Bertoch was transported to the state jail and held without bail.

On 0/17/19 at approximately 0830 hours, Jose Alvarado, age 44, walked into the Police Department lobby to turn himself in for violating his conditions of release. Mr. Alvarado was arrested for Violation of Conditions of Release and he was transported to the state jail where he was held on $250.00 bail.

On 01/19/19 at approximately 2028 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Whitecliff Avenue to contact Heather DeGuzman, age 31, for a violation of conditions of release. Ms. DeGuzman was contacted found to be in violation of her conditions. She was arrested for Violation of Conditions of Release. She was transported to the state jail and held on no bail.

On 01/19/19 at approximately 2333 hours, Officers contacted Shelby Arrington, age 27, in the 400 block of Thatcher Way. Ms. Arrington had an outstanding warrant and was arrested. She was transported to the state jail and held on $250 bail.

On 01/20/19 at approximately 2250 hours, Officers contacted Toni Sanderson, age 39, in the 600 block of Park Avenue. She was arrested on an outstanding warrant and transported to the state jail. Ms. Sanderson was also charged with Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree and Violation of Conditions of Release. She was held on $750 bail.

On 1/20/19 at approximately 2351 hours, Officers contacted Jose Alvarado, age 43, in the 300 block of Main Street. Mr. Alvarado was arrested for Violation of Conditions of Release. He was transported to the state jail and held on $250 bail.

On 01/22/19 at approximately 0032 hours, Officers responded to 2500 block of 3rd Avenue for a report of William Jordan, age 32, causing a disturbance. Mr. Jordan was arrested for two counts of Assault in the Third Degree - Domestic Violence and one count of Criminal Mischief in the Fifth Degree - Domestic Violence. He was transported to the state jail and held on no bail.
