Dispatch Text:

On 4/13/2021 at 2303 hours, Fairbanks Patrol was informed of a severe DV Assault in North Pole. Investigation revealed that Erich Douglas Klinger, 31 of North Pole had broken his wife’s nose, pointed a gun at her, threatened to kill her, and kill any Trooper that showed up on scene to arrest him. Klinger has a long history of domestic assault and violating protective orders from his wife. During the attempted arrest of Klinger, he barricaded himself in the residence and it was determined not to force a confrontation with AST.  On 4/14/21 at  0700 hours, Fairbanks Criminal Suppression Unit (F-CSU) was informed of the call and was able to locate Klinger through active surveillance. Fairbanks CSU, Fairbanks Patrol, Fairbanks FLS, Fairbanks AWT, Fairbanks ABI and North Pole PD, responded to Badger Gas where Klinger was currently working and taken into custody without incident. Further, the handgun used in the assault on Klinger’s wife, was located in his work truck and seized. Klinger confessed to the assaults on his wife and threatening Troopers. Klinger was transported and remanded to FCC.
