Trooper Report Week of May 1, 2016

Location: Prince of Wales Island

Type: Burglary – First Degree, Theft – Second Degree, Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance – Fourth Degree.

On 5/1/16 at approximately 1630 hours, Alaska State Troopers on Prince of Wales Island received a report of theft in the community of Hydaburg. The complainant reported that at some point between 2300 hours on 4/30/16 and noon on 5/1/16, unknown suspect(s) entered her residence and then got into her locked bedroom and stole a Sentry lockbox containing nearly $900.00 in cash and over 100 prescription opiate pills. The victim was home during the period that cash and drugs went missing, but did not hear or see anything. There were no signs of forced entry and nothing else was stolen or damaged. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the Alaska State Troopers POW post at 907-826-2918.

On 5/2/16 at approximately 1330 hours, Alaska State Troopers on Prince of Wales Island received a report of theft in the community of Hydaburg. The complainant reported that at 2030 hours on 5/1/16, an unknown suspect came to the complainant’s residence and asked to use the restroom. The victim let the suspect use his restroom and when the suspect left, all of the victims prescription medications were missing (valued at approximately $500.00). There was nothing else was stolen or damaged. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the Alaska State Troopers POW post at 907-826-2918.

On 5/5/16 at approximately 1123 hours, Alaska State Troopers on Prince of Wales Island conducted a traffic stop on a 1996 Dodge Ram for a seatbelt violation. The driver was identified as Stephanie Booth, age 30 of Klawock. Investigation revealed that Booth was operating the vehicle without a valid operator’s license. Booth was issued an Alaska Uniform Citation to appear in court for the charge of No Valid Operator’s License.
