A gunman has shot dead "about 20 people" in what police say was a "terror" attack on a gay nightclub in Orlando.
The shooter, carrying a bomb and armed with an assault rifle and a handgun, opened fire in the Pulse Orlando bar, leaving around 20 people dead and 42 injured.
Orlando Police say he was involved in a gunfight with a police officer working at the club in the street outside the building, before running back inside where he took hostages.
