On 07/21/2017 at 1058 hours Alaska Wildlife Troopers aboard the P/V Enforcer located several pieces of gear belonging to Bart Eaton, age 77 from Washington. Investigation determined Eaton did not have the required biodegradable escape mechanism on his Dungeness pots and was longlining his shrimp pots. Eaton was issued two $110 citations for No Biodegradable Escape Mechanism on Dungeness Crab pots and a summons to appear for Improperly Marked Sport Fishing Shrimp Pots in Prince of Wales District Court.

On 8/19/2017 at 0020 hours, the Hydabrug VPSO responded to a reported assault in Hydaburg. Investigation revealed that 29 year old Damon Frank of Hydaburg assaulted a family member and then left the area. Approximately 10 hours later, Frank was located and arrested DV assault by the VPSO. While escorting Frank to VPSO patrol vehicle, Frank escaped and fled on foot while handcuffed. Prince of Wales AST located Frank at 1200 hours at a residence in Hydaburg were he was arrested and additionally charged for Escape IV and Criminal Mischief IV.
