Trooper Report Week of November 26, 2017

Type: Hunting without a license, No harvest tags in Possession, Failure to affix non-resident locking tag

On 11/28/17, Alaska Wildlife Troopers on Prince of Wales Island received information that Tevis Wilson, age 23 of Tigard, Oregon, had shot a deer near Thorne Bay, and did not possess a valid hunting license or the appropriate tags. AWT contacted Wilson on 11/29/17 at a residence in Thorne Bay and Wilson admitted to shooting the deer and also to not having a hunting license, harvest or locking tags. The deer was seized and later donated to a local charity. Wilson was issued Alaska Uniform Citations (AUC's) for Hunting without a License, No harvest tags in possession, and Failing to affix non-resident locking tag.

Type: Expected Home Death

On 12/2/17 at approximately 0952 hours, the Alaska State Troopers were advised of the expected home death of David Abbott, 78 YOA of Hollis. Investigation revealed Abbott died of natural causes, and had Comfort One paperwork on file. Next-of-kin was notified, and Abbott’s remains were released to them.
