POW Report can confirm (from an unnamed source) that on New Years' Eve coming back from Ketchikan to Hollis at around 4-5pm, the M/V Stikine had a small isolated fire.
A personal item belonging to a crew member caught fire in the 'fiddly room' of the vessel. Crew members responded immediately and put the fire out and secured the room.
No damage has been reported and the IFA crew followed all legal protocol and requirements.
