Location: Prince of Wales

Type: Possession of Child Pornography

On 9/29/2017, Prince of Wales AST began an investigation into the Unlawful Exploitation of a Minor, and on-line enticement of a minor. The investigation stemmed from 15 year old female receiving explicit images via messenger. Walter Forsberg, 18 years of age from Metlakatla was interviewed and his cellular phone was seized. Ultimately, the phone was forensically examined by the Alaska Bureau of Investigations, Technical Crimes Unit and multiple images of child pornography were discovered. The images are of children between the estimated ages of 18 months – 10 years of age being sexually abused.

On 1/25/2018 a Grand Jury indicted Forsberg on 10 separate counts of Possession of Child Pornography, A.S. 11.61.127. An arrest warrant was issued for Forsberg. Later that same day, and at approximately 1925 hours, Forsberg was arrested in Metlakatla on the outstanding warrant.

Investigation into the identities of the children is ongoing with the assistance of the Federal Bureau of Investigations.

On 1/29/18 at approximately 1445 hours, Alaska Wildlife Troopers on Prince of Wales Island located a single vehicle collision near mile 3.5 of Boundary Road. Investigation revealed that Michael Hemminger, age 25 of Ketchikan, had been traveling Southbound on Boundary Rd near mile 3.5 when he lost control of his vehicle in an icy section of roadway. The 2004 Ford Pickup that Hemminger was operating left the roadway and struck the embankment. Damages to the vehicle were estimated at $4,000.00. Hemminger was wearing a seat belt and did not sustain any injuries in the incident.

On 1/31/2018, Prince of Wales Alaska State Troopers and Wildlife Troopers responded to Hydaburg for a reported disturbance. On scene investigation led to the arrest of 38 year old Christopher Breitweiser, of Hydaburg for Assault in the Fourth Degree. Breitweiser was transported to the Craig Jail and held without bail until arraignment.

Type: Commercial Dive Sea Cucumbers Closed Waters

On 2/1/18, Prince of Wales Wildlife Troopers issued a citation to Kevin L Dau (43 y/o) of Craig for one count of commercially harvesting sea cucumbers in closed waters. The charge stems from an incident which occurred on 11/13/17 in the East Dall fishing area near Hydaburg. He has a mandatory appearance in the Prince of Wales District Court.

On 01/31/18 at approximately 1153 hours, Alaska State Troopers on Prince of Wales received a report that Dennis Parsons, age 66 of Craig, had violated his conditions of release reference a previous arrest relating to Harassment-DV. Investigation revealed Parsons had violated his conditions of release by having direct contact with the victim of the previous incident. On 02/01/18, an arrest warrant for Parsons was obtained from the Prince of Wales Court, and Parsons turned himself into the Craig Jail later that day. Bail was set at $500.

On 02/02/18 at approximately 1630 hours, Alaska State Troopers on Prince of Wales received a report of a stabbing in Hydaburg. The victim was transported by USCG to Sitka before being transported to Seattle with serious injuries. Investigation revealed Justice Peele, age 20 of Hydaburg, had stabbed an adult male victim multiple times with a knife. Peele was arrested on one (1) count Assault 1st Degree and was remanded to the Craig Jail. Bail was set at $1500.
