Natives Rising: In order to thrive it is necessary that every action be true; not necessarily perfect

Thought for the Day- In order to thrive it is necessary that every action be true; not necessarily perfect, which isn't possible, but true. When I was young I played a lot of basketball and other athletic pursuits. I was also a dancer performing traditional Coastal style.

People who have ever performed or have ever played or have ever watched will know that feeling of being "in the zone"or at least what it looks like. Sonics announcer Kevin Collabro used to say a player having an incredible game was "unconcious" and this is what he meant. It is the experience of seeing what you want to do and doing it without even a hint of a 'should I' or 'can I'.

Carpenters talk about angles and alignments being true. Marksmen talk about aims being true. See it, do it, don't think about it just know; just decide. That is the zone. That is being true.

If we are not thriving we know we are doing something off the truth. Sometimes a little sometimes a lot but it isn't working. We need to remember that a part of being in the zone is knowing without question what we envision is the right decision. We can see the wrong things but that simply means we don't know what we should be imagining. We can also see the right thing and question it which adds doubt.

Doubt is always a zone killer. Better to go for it and correct the misstep than worry ahead and miss the shot. I have had a lot of doubts in my life that were stupid. Who else has?
