[LETTER TO THE EDITOR]: Value of a Child's Life Set by the Craig School Board

At the last school board meeting of the Craig School Board, priorities were set for the FY'20 Capital Budget -Six Year Capital Improvement Plan. This plan sets the priorities of the school for major constructions projects. The Craig High School Biomass Boiler at $544,148 was third on list. The Craig School security plan at a rough $250,000 was fourth on the list behind the boiler.

At the interview of the three candidates for the Superintendent position, all the candidates stated that you could not set a price on the life of a child. At that time the Craig School board had no set plan on the price of a child. We have now moved forward with the proposed plan that may take years for the State to fund. But, at least we know what the present value of your child has been set at, $544,148. If you place a higher value on the safety of your child you might attend the next board meeting or talk to a board member.

Don't be a parent that wished they had done something that could have saved their child's life.

Yours for the safety of our children,

Paul E. Dawson
