On September 9, 2018 at about 7:00PM, the Alaska State Troopers on Prince of Wales island received a report of an overdue hiker on the Sunnahae trail system. 34 year old Klawock resident Matthew Wyatt went for a day hike and had not returned. Local volunteers along with Klawock Search and Rescue responded and were able to locate Wyatt safely about 1:00AM. AST would like to thank the volunteers along with Klawock Search and Rescue, Craig Police Department, and Craig EMS for their assistance.

On 9/11/2018 at 0928 hours, Prince of Wales State Troopers responded to Hydaburg for a reported disturbance. Investigation resulted in the arrest of 54 year old Richard Carle of Hydaburg for assaulting a family member, and for interfering with a report of domestic violence when that family member attempted to contact Troopers. During the arrest, Carle subsequently assaulted a State Trooper resulting in him being charged with an additional count of Assault IV. Alcohol was a contributing factor in this incident.

On 9/9/2018, the Alaska Wildlife Troopers on Prince of Wales Island cited Ioannis Tsokos, 54 of Craig, for failing to report a DLP bear. The citation stems from an investigation that began in June wherein an anonymous caller advised troopers of the previously unreported DLP near the Mckenzie Point Logging Camp. Tsokos was given a mandatory court date in the District Court of Klawock.
