Ketchikan Police Report Week of December 27, 2018


On 12/27/18 at approximately 1538 hours, Officers responded to the 400 block of Jackson Street for a report of a vehicle striking Holy Name Catholic Church and leaving the scene. Based on the investigation, Dale Withem, age 40, was arrested for Criminal Mischief in the 3rd Degree and 2 counts of Reckless Endangerment. He was transported to the state jail and held without bail.

On 12/27/18 at approximately 1554 hours, Officers contacted Christian Mathers, age 20, at the 300 block of Main Street. A record check showed Mr. Mathers to have an outstanding arrest warrant for Theft in the 4th Degree. He was arrested, transported to the State jail and held on $100 bail.

On 12/28/18 at approximately 1849 hours, Officers responded to the 2400 block of Tongass Avenue for a report of a female driver operating a red Chevrolet Tracker while consuming alcohol. Officers contacted Courtenay Kinkade, age 32, as the operator of the vehicle described in the report. Based on the subsequent investigation, Ms. Kinkade was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence. She was transported to the state jail and set to be released on her own recognizance.

On 12/29/2018 at approximately 0959 hours, Officers responded to the report of a maledefecating on a store aisle inside of Wal Mart. Officers contacted Hebah Ibrahim, age 42. After further investigation, Officers issued Mr. Ibrahim a citation to appear in court for Disorderly Conduct.

On 12/29/18 at approximately 1327 hours, Officers responded to the report of a larceny from Tongass Dock Store. Officers contacted Robert Sero, age 37, as the suspect. After further investigation, Officers issued Mr. Sero a citation to appear in court for Theft in the Fourth Degree

On 12/29/18, Officers responded to the area of the 600 block of Stedman St. to investigate the report of (2) men seen stumbling into a vehicle. Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Rafael J. Lopez, age 43, was identified as the operator. Mr. Lopez showed signs of intoxication and after failing field sobriety tests, Mr. Lopez was arrested for Driving Under the Influence. Mr. Lopez was transported to the state jail and set to be released to his own recognizance.

On 12/30/18 at 1420 hours, Officers contacted Brian Ojeda, age 25, in the 600 block of Park Avenue due to him having an outstanding warrant. Mr. Ojeda was arrested and transported to the state jail where he was held on $5,000 bail.On 12/30/18 at approximately 2124 hours, Officers contacted Toni R. Sanderson, age 39, in the 300 block of Deermount Street. A record check showed Ms. Sanderson to have a warrant for a Probation Violation. She was arrested and transported to the state jail she was held on $500 bail.

On 12/30/18 at approximately 2256 hours, Officers contacted Jose Alvarado, age 43, in the 300 block of Main Street. Mr. Alvarado was intoxicated and arrested for Violation of Conditions of Release. He was transported to the state jail and held on $250 bail.

On 12/31/18 at approximately 0948 hours, Officers responded to the 600 block of Schoenbar Road for the report of a male sleeping at the bus stop. Officers contacted the sleeping male, who was identified as Ethan Bolton, age 28. Mr. Bolton was found to be intoxicated and was arrested for Violating Probation Conditions. He was transported to the state ja il where he was held without bail.

On 12/31/18 at approximately 1937 hours, Officers responded to McDonalds for an intoxicated female falling down. Officers contacted Macaela McCray, age 29, lying on the ground in front of McDonalds. Ms. McCray was given a permanent trespass notice from McDonalds in September of 2018. Ms. McCray was reminded of her trespass but refused to leave. Ms. McCray was arrested for Criminal Trespass – Second Degree. She was transported to the state jail where shewas set to be released on her own recognizance.

On 01/01/19 at approximately 0047 hours, Officers responded to the 500 block of Water Street for a report of a fight. Officers contacted Melvin Guthrie, age 23, who was intoxicated and verbally warned for disorderly conduct fighting and drunken person on licensed premise. Mr. Guthrie was later arrested for Drunken Person on Licensed Premise. He was transported to the state jail and set to be released on his own recognizance.

On 01/01/19 at approximately 0210 hours, Officers observed a white SUV driving erratically on Front Street. A traffic stop was conducted in the 300 block of Mission Street. The driver was identified as Travis Taylor, age 24. He was arrested for Driving Under the Influence and Misconduct Involving Weapons in the Fourth Degree. He was transported to the state jail and set to be released on his own recognizance.

On 01/01/19 at approximately 0328 hours, Officers responded to the 100 block of Austin Street for a report of screaming and yelling. Officers contacted Carolann Freuler, age 29, who was screaming. Officers verbally warned her for disorderly conduct loud noise. She continued screaming and was arrested. She tried biting officers during the arrest. Ms. Freuler was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Assault in the Fourth Degree. She was transported to the state jail and held on $500 bail.

On 01/02/19 at approximately 0341 hours, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 300 block of Main Street for driving without headlights illuminated. Donavan Bean, age 24, was contacted as the driver. He was arrested for an outstanding warrant. He was transported to the state jail and held without bail. He was also issued a citation for Driving While License Revoked.

On 01/02/19 at about 1328 hours, Officers contacted Akiel Cambridge, age 27; at a residence in the 600 block of Main Street due to a report he was on the property after being warned for trespassing. Mr. Cambridge was arrested for Criminal Trespass. He was transported to the state jail where he was booked and set to be released on his own recognizance.

On 01/04/19 at approximately 1601 hours, Officers responded to the 1600 block of Tongass Avenue due to a report of a male trespassing inside someone’s vehicle. Officers contacted Jose Alvarado, age 43, inside the vehicle. Mr. Alvarado was arrested for Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree and Violation of Conditions of Release. He was transported to the state jail and held on $250.00 bail.

On 01/05/19 at approximately 0733 hours, Officers responded to the 600 block of Dock Street for a disturbance at the bus stop. Officers contacted Ethan Bolton, age 28, and found him to be intoxicated. Mr. Bolton was arrested for Violating Probation Conditions. He was transported to the state jail where he was held without bail.

On 01/07/19 at approximately 0007 hours, Officers were dispatched to an Alaska Avenue residence due to a report of a female injuring herself. Upon further investigation the female, April A. B. Margaja, age 28, was arrested for Assault in the Fourth Degree – Domestic Violence.She was transported to the state jail and held without bail.
