IFA Veteran Transportation Grant Renewed and Begins March 1st

Beginning March 1, 2019, the IFA has been authorized to issue both passenger AND vehicle ticketing to qualifying Veterans traveling in conjunction with healthcare needs!

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has renewed the transportation grant to the State of Alaska Department of Military & Veterans Affairs, and the State has advised the Inter-Island Ferry Authority that the IFA has been accepted into the Veteran Federal Transportation Grant Program again this year!

Present your current Alaska Driver License or ID Card with VA endorsement, Armed Forces of the United States ID Card {Retiree}, 100% Disabled American Veteran ID Card or VA Healthcare Card to qualify for this no-cost to Veteran program. Escorts are required to get prior authorization to travel from Forrest Powell. Forrest is the Grant Manager, and Veterans can contact him at 907-334-0872 or forrest.powell@alaska.gov.

For Additional Grant Information, contact Dennis Watson 907-617-2800 or dwatson@interislandferry.com. For Reservation Information:, contact Reservations at 866-308-4848

For those that may not have noticed, the IFA changed their phone numbers to 866-308-4848

As usual the Craig Veterans Affairs office would like to recommend travelers to use walk on passes unless they absolutely have to use a vehicle so that this grant may last longer for other patrons.
