Type: Escape Mechanism Violation

On 4/28/19, Alaska Wildlife Troopers on Prince of Wales Island located a personal use dungy pot in the marine waters near Hydaburg that did not have the biodegradable escape mechanism required by 5AAC77.010(m). Investigation revealed that the pot was being fished by Kenneth Smith, age 36 of Ketchikan. Smith was issued an Alaska Uniform Citation for the violation.

On May 7, 2019, at about 12:00PM, the Alaska State Troopers on Prince of Wales island contacted 38 year old Hydaburg resident Joey Adams in regards to him having an active arrest warrant. Adams was arrested on the warrant and transported to the Craig Jail where he was remanded.

Type: Illegal use of bait while sport fishing

On 5-14-2019 the Alaska Wildlife Troopers cited a 16 year old juvenile male of Ketchikan for using bait while sport fishing in Ketchikan Creek. This violation has a set fine of $120 and an optional court appearance in the First Judicial District Court in Ketchikan.

On 05/08/2019 at about 2015 hours, the Alaska State Troopers contacted and arrested Kevin Callahan, age 55 of Ketchikan in the 2500 block of Tongass Avenue. Callahan had an outstanding arrest warrant stemming from the original charge of DUI. Callahan was transported and remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center with No Bail.
