Ketchikan Police Report Week of June 1st 2019


On 6/1/2019 at approximately 2322 hours, officers contacted Justus Fleury, age 22, in the area of Berth 3. Mr. Fleury appeared intoxicated and was arrested for Violation of Conditions of Release. He was transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center where he was set to be released on his own recognizance.

On 6/3/2019 at approximately 2329 hours, officers contacted Shelby Arrington in the 1000 block of Water Street. She was served a summons charging her with Theft in the Fourth Degree which stems from a May 2019 case.

On 6/4/2019 at approximately 0049 hours, officers stopped a blue 1994 Ford in the area of Hill Road for expired registration. Christian Mathers, age 21, was contacted as the driver and was arrested for having no motor vehicle liability insurance. He was transported to the state jail and set to be released on his own recognizance.

On 6/5/2019 at approximately 0444 hours, officers responded to the area of the Third Avenue Bypass for a report of a white truck honking at people. Officers found a collision scene and based on their investigation Nicolas Vermillion age 25 was arrested for Driving Under the Influence. He was transported to the state jail and set to be released on his own recognizance.

On 6/5/2019 at approximately 0954 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of Park Avenue at the request of Adult Probation who stated Michael Baham, age 33, was attempting to Tamper with Physical Evidence. Upon arrival, officers learned that Mr. Baham had consumed a solution to alter his urinalysis sample which was scheduled later that day. Mr. Baham was arrested and transported to Ketchikan Correction Center where he was booked one count of Probation Violation and one count of Tampering with Physical Evidence and held without bail.

On 6/5/2019 at approximately 0825 hours, Officers contacted Christian Mathers, 21 y/o male, in the 1600 block of Tongass Avenue. A records check showed Mr. Mathers had two active warrants for Failure to Appear at Trial Call on the original charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle without Liability Insurance. Mr. Mathers was arrested and transported to Ketchikan Correctional Center where he was held on $100 bail.

On 6/5/2019 at approximately 1310 hours, officers contacted Crystal Jackson, 49 years of age, in the 400 block of Water Street due to a report she threw a substance on another person. Ms. Jackson was arrested for Harassment in the 2nd Degree and transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center where she was booked and set to be released on her own recognizance.All charges reported in this media release are only accusations.All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

On 6/6/2019 at approximately 1743 hours, Officers were on routine patrol when they observed Christian Mathers, age 21, driving a 1994 Blue Ford Explorer northbound on the 3rd Avenue Extension. A records check showed Mr. Mathers did not possess a valid operator’s license and had valid conditions of release which stated “Do Not Drive.” Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle. Upon further investigation, Officers learned Mr. Mathers did not have liability insurance for the vehicle, a misdemeanor offense. Mr. Mathers was arrested and transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center where he was booked on one count of Violating Conditions of Release and one count of Operating a Motor Vehicle without Liability Insurance and held on $250.00 bail.

On 6/6/2019 at approximately 1820 hours, officers responded to the 1400 block of Jackson Street due to a report of a domestic assault. At the conclusion of the investigation Jose Crespo-Diaz, age 46, was arrested for Assault in the 4th Degree – Domestic Violence. He was transported to the jail where he was booked and held without.

On 6/9/2019 at approximately 0027 hours, officers contacted Lisa Shirley in the 400 block of Main Street. She was arrested on an outstanding warrant for Theft in the Fourth Degree stemming from an April 2019 case. Ms. Shirley was transported to the state jail and was held on $50 bail.

On 6/9/2019 at approximately 0200 hours, officers conducted a traffic stop on a silver 2011 Dodge pickup for failing to maintain its lane of travel. Officers contacted Forrest McGillis, age 34, as the driver who appeared to be intoxicated. Mr. McGillis failed standardized field sobriety tests and was arrested for Driving Under the Influence. He was transported to the state jail and set to be released on his own recognizance.
