On 7/15/2019 at approximately 1220 hours, Ketchikan AST received a call from 49 year old Alberta P. Shields of Ketchikan reporting she was lost between Perseverance and Carlanna Lakes and could not find the trail. The dispatcher was able to obtain GPS coordinates from Shields to determine her exact location. The Ketchikan Volunteer Rescue Squad (KVRS) was contacted and responded to the scene with a helicopter. At approximately 1420 hours, KVRS returned to Ketchikan with Shields.

On 07-15-2019, Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a single vehicle motor vehicle collision near 6.4 mile of South Tongass highway. Investigation revealed 19-year-old Eveyln Bercher of Minnesota was operating a northbound 2004 Jeep on South Tongass highway. Bercher lost control of the Jeep after becoming distracted and drove off the roadway. The Jeep traveled approximately 320 feet going in and out of the northbound ditch and coming to rest against a rock wall. South Tongass EMS responded, Bercher reported wearing her seatbelt and had no complaint of injuries. The Jeep sustained extensive damage.

Type: Driving Under the Influence and Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test

On 7-16-19 the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a vehicle in the ditch near Harriet Hunt Bridge on Revilla Road. Investigation revealed Christen Harrington 49 of Ketchikan, was operating a motor vehicle under the influence when the vehicle went into the ditch. Harrington refused to submit to a chemical test and was remanded to the Ketchikan Correctional Center on the charges of Driving Under the Influence and Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test.

Type: Robbery 2nd Degree, Assault 4th Degree DV

On 07/17/2019 at about 1834 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of an assault in the village of Hydaburg. AST and AWT responded to Hydaburg to investigate. Investigation revealed that George Peratrovich, age 33 of Hydaburg assaulted another person and stole their wallet before fleeing the residence. AST and AWT later located Peratrovich who was arrested for Robbery in the 2nd Degree, and Assault in the 4th Degree DV. Pertrovich was transported and remanded to the Craig Jail with No Bail.

Type: Escape Mechanism Violation
Dispatch Text:

Alaska Wildlife Troopers on Prince of Wales Island located two dungeness crab pots in the marine waters near Craig that did not have the required biodegradable escape mechanism per 5AAC75.035. Investigation showed that the gear was being fished by Scott Forbes, age 64 of Montana. Forbes was contacted and issued a minor offense citation for the violation.

Type: No License in Possession

Alaska Wildlife Troopers on Prince of Wales Island contacted Mitchell England, age 21 of Klawock, while he was sport fishing for salmon in Neck creek. Investigation showed that England did not have a valid Alaska sport fish license in possession. England was issued a correctable minor offense citation for the violation.
