Alaska State Troopers were contacted by Joshua Grootonk (46Y/O) who stated his 17 Y/O daughter had been kidnapped from his residence. The daughter arrived at post while Joshua was calling and disclosed that Joshua had assaulted her and she had called someone to pick her up to leave. When she tried to leave Joshua became irate and attempted to prevent her but was unable to stop her from leaving. Upon contact Troopers found Joshua extremely intoxicated and uncooperative with the investigation. At the conclusion of the investigation Joshua was arrested on one count of assault 4 with DV and remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center.

The Alaska State Troopers with the assistance of the Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Court Service Officers, USFS Law Enforcement and North Tongass Fire Department organized and participated in a public event centered around Anti-Bullying. The Alaska State Troopers would like to thank all involved agencies for the assistance and participation.

Alaska State Troopers and Ketchikan Police Department received a report that Christopher Comstock had been involved in a single vehicle accident. Christopher was unsure of his exact location and reported being in extreme pain. Alaska State Troopers, Ketchikan Police Department and North Tongass Volunteer Fire Department all searched for over an hour to locate Christopher. When he was found he was discovered to have extensive injuries. Christopher was extricated from his vehicle and taken to the local hospital in stable condition.
