Location: Ketchikan

Type: Criminal Mischief 4th Degree DV

Dispatch Text:

On 07/04/2021 at about 1726 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a disturbance on Chacon Street.  Investigation revealed that Cristian Fernandez- Alexie, age 20 of Ketchikan damaged property at a family members residence.  Fernandez-Alexie was arrested for Criminal Mischief in the 4th Degree DV and remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center with no bail.  AST would like to thank United States Forest Service Law Enforcement for their assistance with the investigation.

Type: Burglary

On June 6, 2021 at approximately 0600 hours the Alaska State Troopers were contacted by a homeowner that stated they could see someone breaking into their cabin on Gravina Island. AST responded along with assistance for the US Coast Guard. Once on scene AST identified the suspect and after a brief foot pursuit he was detained. The suspect, Joshua Mitchell (31 Y/O) was arrested after investigation revealed he had broken into a nearby cabin and stolen several items and a game camera. Joshua was remanded to the Ketchikan Correctional Center without further incident. The Alaska State Troopers would like to thank the United States Coast Guard and the US Forest Service for their assistance.

On 07/05/2021 at about 1804 hours, AST contacted a red pick-up truck at Wolf Point and the North Tongass Highway. Investigation revealed that the occupants Gene Trout, age 34 of Ketchikan and Cameron Seludo, age 31 of Ketchikan were in possession of Heroin and drug paraphernalia associated to distribution.  Heroin, Methamphetamine, drug parpaphernalia, and $661.00 were seized from the vehicle.  Trout and Seludo were both arrested and remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center with No Bail.  AST would like to thank United States Forest Service Law Enforcement and Ketchikan Police Department for their assistance with the investigation.

Type: Assault - DV

On July 7, 2021 The Alaska State Troopers were contacted by a female that stated she had been assaulted at the Ward Lake Campground. Upon investigation it was found the female had injuries consistent with strangulation and physical assault. The female was transported by AST to medical care. The suspect, Christopher Cooper (36Y/O) was contacted by AST and Forest Service LEOs at the campground. After investigation Christopher was arrested and remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center on 2 counts of assault 2, 2 counts of assault 4 and 1 count of Interfering With a Report of a Domestic Violence Crime. Christopher was held without bail. AST would like to thank the US Forest Service for their assistance with this case.

On July 9, 2021 at approximately 0930 hours the Alaska State Troopers contacted Rusty Shull (34 Y/O) at his listed residence address. Rusty had several no bail outstanding warrants. Upon contact Rusty fled from a bedroom to a bathroom where he was taken into custody without further incident. Rusty was remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center and held on his warrants.

Alaska State Troopers contacted Tad Enholm (46Y/O) at a construction site in the Vallenar View Trailer Court in regards to his outstanding arrest warrant. Tad was arrested on his warrant and transported to Ketchikan Correctional Center without incident.

Type: Assault 3rd Degree DV

On 07/08/2021 at about 1702 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of an Assault involving a weapon at a residence on Forest Park Drive.  Investigation revealed that Tonya Freund, age 33 of Ketchikan assaulted another family member with a weapon.   Freund was arrested for Assault in the 3rd Degree DV and remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center with No Bail.  AST would like to thank United States Forest Service Law Enforcement and the Saxman VPSO for their assistance with the investigation.

Type: Aircraft Crash

On July 9, 2021, at approximately 0747 hours Alaska State Troopers were notified of a plane crash near Coffman Cove in Southeast Alaska. Initial reports are that a Dehavilland Beaver with only the pilot on board crashed in the water due to unknown reasons. There were no injuries reported to Troopers. The owner of the plane sent another aircraft to pick up the pilot. The NTSB has been notified of the incident.

On 7-8-2021 the Alaska Wildlife Troopers cited Lukas Brickweg (34) of Florida for allowing a client to place a Dungeness crab pot in Alaska waters without the proper bio-degradable escape mechanism.  This violation carries a set bail/fine of $120 and does not require a mandatory court appearance in the First Judicial District Court in Ketchikan.

On 7-8-2021 the Alaska Wildlife Troopers cited Arec Shay (43) of Ketchikan for operating a Personal Use Dungeness crab pot in Alaska waters without the proper bio-degradable escape mechanism.  This violation carries a set bail/fine of $120 and does not require a mandatory court appearance in the First Judicial District Court in Ketchikan.

Type: Possess undersize King Salmon

On 7-9-2021 the Alaska Wildlife Troopers cited Luanne Mace (68) of Ketchikan for possessing two undersize King Salmon taken while sport fishing in Alaska waters that required the minimum size to be 28 inches in length.  This violation carries a set bail/fine of $100 and $150 for each King Salmon.  The violation does not require a mandatory court appearance in the First Judicial District Court in Ketchikan.

Type: Commercial Troll Retain Undersize King Salmon

On 7/6/21, Juneau Wildlife Troopers on board the PV Enforcer, issued Jared Jillie, age 32, of Juneau, a minor offense summons for retaining 5 undersized king salmon during the first summer king salmon troll opening.  Arraignment was set for July 28th, 2021, at 1330 hours in the Prince of Wales Court.
