Craig Police Report Week of February 28, 2016


The following incidents were reported to and/or investigated by the Craig Police Department:

2/28/2016
7:50 p.m. A kitten was found on the street and later returned to its owner
7:56 p.m. Conducted a traffic stop on Port Saint Nicholas Rd. at the fire pit; verbal warning given for no taillights
9:14 p.m. Conducted a traffic stop on Craig Klawock HWY; verbal warning given for break light out and expired tags

2/29/2016
10:14 a.m. Responded to a traffic complaint on Craig Klawock HWY by the cliffs; contact was made with the driver at Shaub; the driver had stopped at the business to get their rear tire fixed
1:56 p.m. Received a traffic complaint for vehicles parked on Third St. and Spruce St.; contact was made with the the owner of the business and she will speak with her customers
4:00 p.m. Responded to a complaint of suspicious activity on Port Saint Nicholas Rd. at the barge landing area; a freezer, that was illegally dumped , was picked up by the owner and will be properly disposed of
6:58 p.m. A found license plate was turned into the Craig Police Department; the plate was returned to the owner
8:04 p.m. An unsecured door was located at a local business; door was secured

8:20 p.m. An unsecured door was located at a local business; door was secured

3/02/2016
5:57 p.m. Medics were paged out to assist with a Medivac
9:30 p.m. Medics were paged out to a residence on the 400 block of Shaan Seet

3/03/2016
10:23 a.m. Responded to the City Gym parking lot for a Motor Vehicle Accident; investigation started
10:44 a.m. Responded to an animal complaint on Craig Klawock HWY near Dump Rd.; the deceased deer was off the roadway and not a traffic hazard; it was unsalvageable

3/04/2016 1
1:55 a.m. Responded to a request for a citizen assist in the downtown area
8:32 a.m. Responded to a report of a burglary alarm going off at a local business
1:54 p.m. Medics were paged out to a residence on the 400 block of T & H St.
3:59 p.m. Provided courtesy transport to two citizens from ARMC to a residence on the 400 block of T & H St.
4:19 p.m. Responded to a report of suspicious activity at 62 pit
6:03 p.m. Conducted a traffic stop on Craig Klawock HWY at Tanner Crab; verbal warning given for speed
6:13 p.m. Conducted a traffic stop on Craig Klawock HWY at Tanner Crab; verbal warning given for speed
6:59 p.m. Responded to a report of possible gunshots in the area of Sunnahae
7:50 p.m. Responded to a juvenile complaint at a local business; contact was made with the juveniles and they were advised of the complaint
8:05 p.m. Conducted a traffic stop at the North Cove parking lot; verbal warning given for speed
8:06 p.m. Conducted a traffic stop on West Hamilton; verbal warning given for failure to stop at a stop sign
8:54 p.m. Responded to a report of an unsecured door at a local business; door was secured
9:10 p.m. Conducted a traffic stop at 4 mile Craig Klawock HWY; verbal warning given for broken taillight
9:22 p.m. An unsecured door was located at a local business; door was secured
9:26 p.m. Responded to an animal complaint at a residence on the 400 block of Shaan Seet
10:59 p.m. An unsecured door was located at a local business; door was secured
11:37 p.m. Responded to a report of a water main leak at South Cove Harbor; the water was turned off

3/05/2016
1:12 a.m. Courtesy transport was provided to a citizen from Main St. and Second St. to the Beachcomber B&B
9:46 a.m. Responded to an animal complaint from the 700 block of Shaan Seet; the owner of the dog was contacted and advised if the dog gets loose again they will be issued a citation
12:03 p.m. Conducted a traffic stop at 5 mile Craig Klawock HWY; verbal warning given for speed
3:02 p.m. Responded to a report of suspicious activity at the Craig pool; investigation started for Criminal Trespass
7:54 p.m. Medics were paged out to a residence in Upper Harborview
