On 12/22/16 at approximately 1400 hours, Alaska State Troopers on Prince of Wales received a REDDI report that Melanie Baker, age 47 of Ketchikan, was driving a white Ford pickup near Hydaburg. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle near the Klawock-Hollis Highway and Hydaburg Road interchange, and Baker was contacted. Investigation revealed Baker was driving without a valid operator’s license and without an IID device as required. Baker was issued a summons for NVOL and Driving in Violation of License Limitations. The pickup was released to a licensed driver.

On 12/23/16 at approximately 1323 hours, Alaska State Troopers on Prince of Wales received a report of a theft from a commercial yard in Thorne Bay. The complainant reports that three (3) 100 gallon tanks full of propane were stolen sometime between 12/21/16-12/23/16. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Alaska State Troopers on Prince of Wales at 907-826-2918 or 907-225-5118.

On 12/23/2016 at about 1611 hours, Prince of Wales based State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a 1996 Dodge Dakota pickup for an equipment violation on South Thorne Bay Road. The investigation resulted in the driver, 64 year old Thorne Bay resident Vern Redding being issued a criminal citation for no valid operators license after his Alaska Drivers license was found to have expired in 2013.
