Craig Police Report Week of February 26, 2017



During the week of February 26, 2017 to March 4, 2017 the following incidents were reported to and/or investigated by the Craig Police Department:

2/26/17
3:40 a.m. An officer provided transport for 2 individuals to their residence.
8:46 a.m. Received a report of a loose yellow lab near the Middle School running towards Klawock, owner was contacted and dog was picked up.
10:58 a.m. Received a report of an alarm going off at a local business on Cold Storage rd, an officer responded and advised that the owners had tripped the alarm.
11:23 a.m. Received a report of a silver Geo with loud exhaust doing burnouts in Lower Harborview, an officer responded, no signs of burnouts, advised owner they had 10 days to fix the exhaust.
12:46 p.m. Conducted a traffic stop at 2.2 mile C/K Hwy, a verbal warning was given for speed.
1:25 p.m. An officer found a small black dog loose on 5th and Cedar and returned it to it’s owner.

2/27/17
6:21 a.m. A black cell phone was found outside of the City Gym.
8:41 a.m. Received a report of a yellow lab and two other dogs loose on Beach and 4th that have been running loose all over town.
9:24 a.m. A man came into the station to claim his cell phone that was found outside the City Gym earlier.
12:31 p.m. Received a report of an Motor Vehicle Accident on 600 block of Spruce st, a vehicle lost it’s breaks and rolled into a fuel tank and into a house. Officer investigated, DEC contacted and advised, due to fuel spill. Driver issued citation for no insurance.
3:34 p.m. Received a report of a woman harassing a man in the 600 block of Spruce st, office responded and the issue was resolved, a verbal warning was given to both parties not to contact the other.
5:54 p.m. A woman reported she found what looks like a heroin needle on Spruce and 6th, an officer responded.
9:35 p.m. a woman reported hearing what sounded like a gun shot in the area of South Cove, an officer was in the area and believes it was a firework.

2/28/17
1:50 a.m. Received a report of a disturbance, Shaan Seet TC, officer responded and matter resolved.
7:13 a.m. Received a report open doors at a local business on 3rd street, officer responded and Public Works was contacted to help secure the doors.
6:06 p.m. Received a report of suspicious activity in the 200 block of Shaan Seet TC, officer investigated, determined reporting party has medical condition and family members taking care of matter.

3/1/17
4:44 p.m. Received a report from a man at work that there was a group of kids playing in his yard in the 600 block of Shaan Seet TC and he didn’t want them there, an officer responded and advised it was bunch of 1st graders, but they weren’t in the man’s yard.

3/2/17
8:04 a.m. Received a report that a school bus was speeding into town on C/K Hwy near AML, School advised and will address issue.
3:00 p.m. Received a report of a fire alarm set off at 500 block of Hamilton dr, an officer responded and reported no fire.
6:37 p.m. Received a report from a man in the 600 block of Shaan Seet TC that a van was parked in his driveway and he would like it gone, owner was contacted, the van ran out of gas and they will move it in the morning.

3/3/17
9:14 a.m. Received a report of a cell phone found at AP&T parking lot, owner contacted and left message.
12:25 p.m. Received a report of a yellow lab loose in the parking lot of a local business on C/K Hwy and Cold Storage rd, owner contacted and will come pick up.
3:28 p.m. A 20 yr old male was arrested on charges of violation condition of release.
4:42 p.m. Conducted a traffic stop at C/K Hwy and Peace Health, a verbal warning was given for speed.

3/4/17
12:38 a.m. An officer provided transport for an individual to their residence on 600 block of Brandy ct.
2:20 a.m. Received a report of an intoxicated female in the road near Tanner Crab ct heading towards Klawock who may need assistance, an officer responded an provided transport to her residence.
2:24 p.m. Received a report from 700 block Shaan Seet TC of a white/ black puppy that followed some kids home from the store, an officer responded and returned the dog to it’s owners.
6:06 p.m. Conducted a traffic stop at 700 block SSTC, a verbal warning was given for a headlight out.
9:00 p.m. Received a report of a domestic disturbance on T&H street between a man and woman, officers responded and the issue was resolved.
9:24 p.m. Received a report of a domestic disturbance at 3.25 mile PSN of a man breaking the windows of his home, officers from both Craig and AST responded and took the man into custody on charges of Criminal Mischief in the fourth degree Domestic Violence.
10:49 p.m. A 27 yr old male was arrested on charges of Criminal Mischief in the fourth degree Domestic Violence.
11:07 p.m. Conducted a traffic stop at C/K Hwy and 300 block of SSTC, a verbal warning was given for no break light, driver will park the car and have it fixed.
11:34 p.m. Conducted a traffic stop at C/K Hwy and Peace Health, a verbal warning was given for a headlight out.

During the week of February 26, 2017 to March 4, 2017 the following complaints were reported and investigated by the Craig Police Department:

0 abandoned vehicles; 2 adult arrest;5 agency assists; 5 animal reports; 0 assault; 0 bear complaints; 0 burglaries, 2 business assists; 6 citizen assists, 0 citations were issued; 2 criminal mischief; 0 criminal trespass, 0 disorderly conduct; 1 disturbances; 2 domestic dispute; 0 Domestic Violence Orders Served,0 fire call, 2 found property, 1 harassments, 0 juvenile arrest0 juvenile complaints; 1 lost property; 0 medical call; 1 motor vehicle accidents; 0 noise complaints; 0 protective custodies; 0 subpoena served,0 summons served; 4 suspicious circumstances; 0 theft; 5 traffic complaints; 0 unsecured premise, 5 verbal warnings and 0 welfare checks were given
