On 05-10-17 at approximately 1741 hours, Alaska State Troopers on Prince of Wales conducted a traffic stop on a blue Chevrolet pickup truck bearing AK Plate #JAD975 on West Hamilton in Craig for an equipment violation. Investigation revealed Michael Peel, age 45 of Craig, was driving the vehicle in violation of a restriction on his driver’s license. Peel was issued a summons for A.S. 28.15.121(d) Drive in Violation of Restricted License.

On 5/11/17 at approximately 0830 hours, Alaska State Troopers on Prince of Wales Island received a report of a theft near mile eight of the Kasaan road. The complainant reported that at some point between 4/30/17 and 5/6/17, unknown individuals stole approximately $5000.00 worth of parts from a boat parked on the property. The items included a motor, GPS, VHF Radio, and other miscellaneous items. The investigation is ongoing. On 5-10-2017 at approximately 2249 hours, Alaska State Troopers on Prince of Wales were advised of a domestic violence disturbance at a residence on Port St Nicholas Road in Craig. Investigation revealed Eldred Leep, age 47 of Craig, had assaulted a family member causing injury. Leep was arrested on one count of Assault 4Th Degree Domestic Violence and remanded to the Craig Jail Facility.

On 5-10-2017 at approximately 1330 hours, Hydaburg VPSO received a report report a fight in progress at a residence in Hydaburg. Investigation revealed Christopher Breitweiser, age 38 of Hydaburg, was trespassing on the property and had assaulted two of the residents. Breitweiser was arrested on two (2) counts of Assault 4th Degree and one (1) count of Criminal Trespass 1st Degree, and remanded to Craig Jail Facility. Bail was set at $500.00.
