HRSA Gives SEARHC a Perfect Score

JUNEAU, July 17, 2017 – Last week, SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) completed its latest Operational Site Visit conducted by the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA), the agency that provides grant funding dedicated to the operation of our primary care clinics outside of Juneau and Sitka. The visit was extremely successful with the preliminary HRSA report showing SEARHC met 100% of the 19 measured criteria.

The site visits are conducted on a three-year schedule with the goal of assessing SEARHC’s overall compliance with the HRSA Bureau of Primary Health Care’s 19 Program Requirements, which encompass the areas of clinical services, finance, management, and governance.

HRSA surveyors visited SEARHC sites in Juneau, Haines, and Klukwan. The survey team also reviewed extensive documentation and conducted interviews with staff, SEARHC leadership, and Board Members.

Perfect scores are extremely unusual according to the surveyors, who said, “It was a remarkable site visit.” They were unanimous in their conclusions that SEARHC goes above the requirements and demonstrates its commitment to providing the highest quality care.

SEARHC Board Chair, Kimberly Strong expressed great pride in obtaining both a perfect score as well as such high praise, saying, “This report affirms that we are meeting our goal of providing the best care possible to the communities we serve.” She added, “We work hard to maintain high standards of care by employing high-quality medical providers and ensuring state-of-the-art equipment and technology is available. This contributes to creating an organization with staff who are empowered and committed to accomplishing our mission of providing the best healthcare for the people we serve in Southeast Alaska.”

The results of this report recognize SEARHC’s dedication to quality and continuous compliance with HRSA’s high standards and demonstrate that employees at every level of the organization are dedicated to providing exceptional healthcare.
