On May 8, 2018 at about 9:50 AM, the Alaska State Troopers on Prince of Wales island responded to Hollis after receiving a report of a deceased person. Troopers were able to identify 64 year old Monty Lewis as the deceased. Mr. Lewis' body was sent to the State Medical Examiner's Office. No foul play is suspected and next of kin has been notified.

On 5/9/2018 at 1443 hours, Prince of Wales State Troopers responded to a single motor vehicle collision near MP 24 Boundry Road. Investigation revealed that 74 year old Raymond Castor of Sammamish Washington was driving his 2003 Chevrolet Silverado, and pulling a 2011 Hewscraft Pacific Explorer boat. Castor reported he fell asleep at the wheel which caused the vehicle, and trailer in-tow, to enter the road ditch which caused the boat to become disconnected, and ultimately rolling onto the roadway. Multiple gallons of fuel subsequently was released onto the roadway and into the road ditch. The trailer and boat, valued at approximately $84,000 were both substantially damaged. Alcohol nor medications were a factor.

On 5/10/2018 at 0930 hours, Prince of Wales contacted 26 year old Steven Peratrovich of Ketchikan as a passenger in a vehicle. Peratrovich provided a false name during the contact, and continued to provide the false name after he was confronted with his DMV photo proving his identity. Peratrovich was ultimately arrested on 1KE-18-0179CR (Theft II), and 1KE-17-0456CR (Criminal Trespass), and remanded to the Craig Jail with bail set at $5250. Charges of False Information forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for consideration

On 5/11/2018, Prince of Wales State Troopers responded to S. Thorne Bay for a reported death. Preliminary investigation revealed that 69 year old Frank Kriener of Thorne Bay had died of natural causes. Kriener's next of kin has been notified.
