Ketchikan Police Report Week of March 10, 2019


On 3/10/19 at approximately 1409 hours, Officers contacted Toni Sanderson age 39, in the 300 block of Deermount Street. She was arrested on an outstanding warrant. Based on the officers’ investigation she was also arrested for Unlawful Contact in the First Degree, Violation of Conditions of Release and Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree. She was transported to the state jail and held on no bail.

On 3/11/19 at approximately 1530 hours, Officers observed a black 1985 Ford pickup with a defective brake light in the 5000 block of the Tongass Highway. Officers contacted Joseph Steel age 50, as the driver. Mr. Steel was issued a citation for Driving with a Revoked license and a Misdemeanor citation for no motor vehicle insurance.

On 3/12/19, at approximately 0240 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Water Street to investigate a report of a domestic disturbance. The investigation revealed Natasha Ramsey, age 31, assaulted her husband during a heated argument. Mrs. Ramsey was arrestedfor Assault in the Fourth Degree - Domestic Violence. She was transported to the state jail and held on no bail.

On 3/12/19 at approximately 1436 hours, Officers contacted Nathaniel D. Leask, age 42, in the 500 block area of Pine Street. Mr. Leask was found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest for Failure to Sign Unsecured Bond. Mr. Leask was taken into custody and transported to the state jail where he was held on $1,000.00 bail.

On 3/12/19 at approximately 1627 hours, Officers contacted Murphy J. Charles, age 37, in the 500 block area of Water Street. Mr. Charles was served a summons to appear in court for Driving Under the Influence and Assault in the Third Degree. These charges originated from an incident that occurred in May 2018. 

On 03/13/19 at approximately 0927 hours, Officers contacted Christian Mathers, age 20, in the 1600 block of Tongass Avenue. Mr. Mathers had two outstanding warrants for Failure to Post Bail on the original charges of Theft in the Fourth Degree, Theft in the Third Degree and two counts of Violating Conditions of Release. Additionally he was served a summons charging him with Theft in the Fourth Degree and Violating Conditions of Release from a February 2019 incident. He was transported to the state jail and held on $200 bail.

On 03/13/19 at approximately 1130 hours, Officers contacted Candra DeGuzman, age 32, in the 100 block of Whitecliff Avenue. Ms. Deguzman was arrested on a warrant charging her withViolating Conditions of Release. She was transported to the state jail and held on $1,000 bail.

On 03/13/19 at approximately 2100 hours, Officers contacted Brandy Hazeltine, age 28, at an apartment on Thatcher Way due to a report of a domestic dispute. The investigation revealed that she assaulted her boyfriend. She was arrested for Assault in the Fourth Degree – Domestic Violence. She was transported to the state jail and held without bail.

On 03/15/19 at approximately 1115 hours, Officers responded to the 2400 block of Tongass Avenue for a report of a female shoplifting. Officers contacted Ashleigh Krantz, age 31, as the subject of the call. Based on the investigation, Ms. Krantz was arrested for Theft in the ThirdDegree. She was transported to the state jail where she was set to be released on her own recognizance.

On 03/16/19 at approximately 0110 hours, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle due to it speeding in the 800 block of Schoenbar Road. Officers contacted Thomas Robinson, age 48, as the operator. Officers observed Mr. Robinson to be intoxicated. Mr. Robinson failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for Driving Under the Influence. He was transported to the state jail where he was set to be released on his own recognizance.

On 03/17/19 at approximately 0636 hours, Officers contacted Ronald Trelfa, age 26, due to a report of a male asleep in the driver’s seat of a car. He was found to be intoxicated but not in control of the car and sent away in a taxi with a warning for drunk driving. Approximately 10 minutes later, Mr. Trelfa returned to the car and was observed driving away. The vehicle was stopped and after further investigation, Mr. Trelfa was arrested for Driving Under the Influence. He was remanded at the state jail and set to be released on his own recognizance.
