Haida Totem Replication and Long House Project Culture Camp Agenda [July 22-27th]


HISTORIC HAIDA TOTEM REPLICATION AND LONG HOUSE PROJECT 2019 AND CULTURAL CAMP AGENDA - July 22-27, 2019


The Hydaburg Transit System will be running on an “As Needed” basis. If we get a list of parents and children with at least 6 total, we will schedule a run from Klawock in the morning with a return after classes. Children must be 16 or older to travel alone.

Monday-Thursday: July 22-25, 2019

Culture Camp Classes at Hydaburg School Small Gym: 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

Friday-July 26, 2019:
Raising of totems in front of the Long House.
Blessing of Naa Iwaans: 10:00 a.m. at Naa Iwaans site
Celebration Feast: 4:00 p.m. at the Haida Memorial Gym or “Big Gym”
Regalia contest and display of projects completed
Grand Entrance-Friday night at 5:00 p.m. All Dance Groups
Grand Exit-Friday Night-All Dance Groups

Saturday-July 27, 2019:
Haida Festival: 11:00 a.m. Totem Park
Picnic: 4:00 p.m. at Totem Park
Hot dogs, salads, S’mores
A silent auction will be held throughout the Culture Camp.
