On 26 November 2019 at 1143 hours, Prince of Wales State Troopers responded to Hydaburg for a reported disturbance. Investigation determined that 42 year old Mitchell Carle of Hydaburg, placed a family member in imminent fear of being assaulted, and spat in the family members face. Carle was arrested for the aforementioned charges and remanded to the Craig Jail pending arraignment.

On 11/27/2019 at about 1842 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a REDDI (Report Every Dangerous Driver Immediately) report of a suspected intoxicated driver at a business in the 2800 Block of South Tongass Highway, Investigation revealed that the driver Alexandra Kelly, age 24 of Ketchikan was operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated by alcohol. Kelly was transported and remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center.

On 11/27/2019 at about 1829 hours, the Alaska State Troopers contacted and arrested Christian Mathers, age 21 of Ketchikan in the 2800 Block of South Tongass Highway. Mathers had an outstanding arrest warrant reference VCOR. Further investigation revealed that Mathers was violating current conditions of release by possessing drug paraphernalia. With the assistance of Ketchikan Police Department Mathers was transported and remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center with bail set at $5,000. AST would like to thank Ketchikan Police Department for their assistance with the investigation.

On 11/27/2019, Billy R Davis 35 YOA, of Ketchikan Alaska, was cited by Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Ketchikan Post, for hunting without a 2019 hunting license in possession. Davis was cited after he was contacted hunting near Shelter Cove without a 2019 hunting license in possession. Bail is set at $270 in the Ketchikan district Court.

UPDATE: Crash site was reached on 12/1/2019 and recovery efforts completed at approximately 1500 hours. Remains have been removed from the site and will be transported to the State Medical Examiner in Anchorage for positive identification.

On 11/29/2019 at approximately 1912 hours, Soldotna Dispatch received multiple reports of an aircraft crash near Jean Lake, west of Cooper Landing. Aircraft dispatched by RCC responded and located the crash site, but was unable to land due to weather and terrain. On 11-30-19 at approximately 1430 hours DPS Helo 3, with NTSB investigator onboard, conducted an overflight of the crash site but was unable to land in the area. The involved aircraft has been identified as a Piper PA31-350 operated by Security Aviation. There were believed to be three souls onboard; no survivors are expected. The Alaska Mountain Rescue Group is organizing a ground response to the crash site on 12-1-19.
