On January 21, 2020, at approximately 1419 hrs, Alaska State Troopers (AST) received the report of a motor vehicle collision near South Tongass Service. The Saxman VPSO arrived on scene and identified the driver as 47-year-old Richard Headley of Ketchikan. Headley was not injured during the collision.

AST responded and subsequent investigation revealed Headley was driving while intoxicated, driving while revoked, and in violation of his court ordered conditions of release. Headley was taken into custody and transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center. He was held on $250.00 bail, pending his arraignment.

On 1-21-2019 the Alaska Wildlife Troopers cited David Vest (43) of Ketchikan for operating four personal use Dungeness crab pots without marking the buoys with any of the required marking requirements, operating a personal use Dungeness crab pot without a biodegradable escape mechanism, and operating a personal use long-line without marking the buoys with any of the required marking requirements. Each of the following six violations has a set fine of $100 with a $20 court surcharge. The total amount for all the violations is $600 with $120 in court surcharges. These violations have an optional court appearance in the First Judicial District Court in Ketchikan.

On 1-21-2020 the Alaska Wildlife Troopers issued a summons to Daniel Easley (31) of Washington for possessing commercially taken Geoducks without a valid 2020 CFEC permit in his possession. Easley was also issued a summons for possessing an over limit of commercially taken Geoducks for the weekly period of January 8, 2020. Both of the violations are charged as commercial fishing strict liability violations and they require a mandatory court appearance in the First Judicial District Court in Ketchikan.

On 01/23/2020 at approximately 1200 hours, Prince Wales State Troopers conducted an investigation regarding an assault. Investigation revealed 57 year-old Hydaburg resident Jack Olsen, assaulted a household member. At 1715 hours, Olsen was located in Hydaburg and arrested on an arrest warrant stemming from the investigation. Olsen was remanded to the Craig Jail pending arraignment.

On 01/24/2020, Prince of Wales State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a red 2000 Ford F-250 after recognizing the driver as an individual with an suspended operators license. The traffic stop resulted in the arrest of 33-year-old, Michael Howard of Klawock for driving while license suspended having previous convictions for same offense. Howard was remanded to the Craig Jail and released O/R.

On 01/24/2020 at approximately 2215 hours, Prince of Wales State Troopers were notified of a possible sexual assault which occurred earlier in the evening. The investigation resulted in the arrest 18-year-old Joshua Hayes of Klawock for Sexual Assault in the 3rd Degree. Hayes was remanded to the Craig Jail pending arraignment.
