On February 11, 2020, the Alaska State Troopers on Prince of Wales island located 44 year old Paul Washington Jr at a residence in Hydaburg. Washington was arrested on two outstanding arrest warrants and remanded to the Craig Jail where he was held without bail.

Type: Interference with commercial Dungeness crab gear, interference with personal use gear, theft in the 3rd Degree, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, unlawful identification of commercial Dungeness crab gear, failing to report Dungeness crab on fish

On 10/01/2018, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Ketchikan Post, charged David Vest 42 YOA, of Ketchikan, with a 21 count criminal complaint. Vest was charged with 21 counts of Interference with Commercial Dungeness crab gear, interference with personal use gear, Theft in the 3rd degree, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, Unlawful identification of commercial Dungeness crab gear, failing to report Dungeness crab on fish tickets, unlawful possession of fish, theft in the fourth degree, mutilating commercially taken Dungeness crabs before a landing, and unsworn falsification. David Vest was charged after State Trooper conducting video surveillance and observed Vest aboard the F/V Silver Surfer near Etlion Island operating commercial and personal use crab pots that were not his.

On 01/21/2020 David Vest 43 YOA, of Ketchikan, plead guilty to tampering with and retrieving another person’s shellfish gear without permission and unsworn falsification in the second degree by making a false statement of material fact on in Alaska Department of fish and game commercial Dungeness tag replacement affidavit.

David Vest was sentenced and fined $10,000 with $4,000 suspended.

Forfeiture of all seized fish and game as well as all equipment seized during the investigation.

Forfeiture of $398.00 of commercially sold Dungeness crab.

Court imposed suspension of his commercial fishing permit, privileges and license for one year.

Probation for one year requiring to obey all laws.

On 02/14/2020 at about 2010 hours, the Alaska State Troopers contacted and arrested Gabriel Hubble, age 40 of Ketchikan at a residence in the 3200 Block of Timberline Court. Hubble had an outstanding arrest warrant for VCOR stemming from the original charge of Assault in the 4th Degree. Hubble was transported and remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center with bail set at $1,000.00.

On February 14, 2020, at approximately 0938 hrs, Alaska State Troopers (AST) conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the Safeway parking lot. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 50-year-old Richard Ralph, Jr. of Ketchikan. Subsequent investigation revealed Ralph, Jr. was operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcoholic beverages. He was taken into custody and transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center, where he was held on $1,000.00 bail for the misdemeanor offense of driving under the influence.
