Job Posting Whale Tail Pharmacy

Unrelated to COVID-19, Whale Tail Pharmacy is looking for a new permanent employee to join our team in May. Please see the following:

Whale Tail Pharmacy is an independent retail pharmacy in Craig, Alaska founded on a strong mission to serve others. Therefore, the pharmacy is more than a business, it is a ministry and we LOVE our patients, employees, local providers, and community. As a result, the care provided to our patients goes well beyond industry norms, employees are valued and mentored, and community outreach is a key focus.

We are looking for a new team member starting in May, three days a week from 9:15am to 5:45pm and every third Saturday from 11:45am to 2:15pm. In depth on the job training will be provided (previous pharmacy experience is preferred but not required).

Any member of our team must have compassion and a strong desire to serve others. We need a candidate who is at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma. Qualities required are an outgoing and friendly personality, unquestionable character and integrity, ability to work as a team member, dependability, and a desire to work hard as there is limited downtime.

Please have your completed application and resume turned in by April 24th. Interviews will begin the last week of April.

Ketchikan Update:

SEARHC has tested 62 people in Klawock:

As of Tuesday, April 21, there have been 547 COVID-19 tests conducted across the Consortium, with 515 negatives, four positives, and 28 still pending. There are currently 1,475 standard COVID-19 tests available within the SEARHC network, along with 629 rapid test kits and 2,528 influenza supplies.

Completed tests, as of April 21, 2020:
Sitka - 174
Juneau - 151
Wrangell - 77
Klawock - 62
Haines - 44

SEARHC had previously refrained from releasing community-specific testing data, but given that the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services is not reporting results completed in-house (including rapid tests), we will provide weekly data for our five largest communities. These communities have exceeded the threshold of tests completed to reduce privacy concerns.
