Troopers were notified of a theft involving a large Craftsman Toolchest out of a garage from the area of Higgins Spur Road. Investigation into the case is ongoing.

Troopers responded to the area of 15 mile North Tongass Highway for a report of a motor vehicle collision with possible entrapment. Upon arrival all parties were uninjured and not entrapped. Both vehicles were able to be driven from scene by the owners.

Troopers were notified of an assault occurring in the area of Vallenar View Trailer Park at approximately 2341 hours. Troopers responded and contacted Joshua Grootonk (46Y/O) and a female inside of a residence. Investigation revealed Joshua had assaulted a household member. Joshua was arrested on one count of Assault 4 D.V. Joshua was remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center.

11/5/2020, at approximately 1755 hours, the Hydaburg VPSO arrested, Joey Adams aged 40 of Hydaburg on a $500.00 cash outstanding probation warrant. Adams was transported and remanded to Craig Jail Facility with out incident.

10/27/2020, at approximately 1406 hours, the Hydaburg VPSO arrested, Kevie Frank aged 26 of Hydaburg at her residence on two (2) outstanding warrants 1PW-20-0026CR, and 1KE-19-908CR. Frank was transported and held on $1000 bail at the Craig Jail Facility for her outstanding warrants.

On 11-5-20 at approximately 1724 hours, Alaska State Troopers, Alaska Wildlife Troopers and North Tongass Fire/EMS responded to a report of a 2-vehicle collision near 10.5 mile of the North Tongass Highway. Investigation revealed that Shyann Lambrite, age 21 of Ketchikan, was operating a 2014 Toyota Tacoma heading southbound. In front of Lambrite was a 2002 Chevy pickup operated by Aaron Steuerwald, age 44 of Ketchikan, that was slowing to stop for traffic turning off the highway. Lambrite struck the rear of Steuerwald's vehicle. All parties were reportedly wearing seatbelts and had no injuries. Lambrite's vehicle was towed from the scene by Purdy's Towing and she was cited for Failure to Use Due Care to Avoid a Collision.

On 11-7-20 at approximately 0922 hours, the Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a single vehicle collision near 4.5 mile of the South Tongass Highway. Investigation revealed that Trygve Westergard, age 39 of Ketchikan, was operating a 2008 Ford Ranger heading northbound when he attempted to go around a vehicle stopped in the northbound lane. Due to the icy road conditions, he lost control and spun off the road striking a mailbox and guardrail causing minor damage. Seatbelts were worn with no injuries reported.
