On December 1, 2020 Alaska State Troopers responded to a residence in the area of S. Tongass Highway for a report of a juvenile that was found not breathing in bed. Upon arrival Troopers met with EMS who declared the individual deceased. No signs of foul play were discovered during the investigation and it appeared the juvenile passed due to natural causes. The body has been sent to the State Medical Examiners Office for further investigation.

On December 2, 2020, Alaska State Troopers with the assistance of Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Ketchikan Police Department and US Forest Service Law Enforcement responded to a residence in the Knudson Cove area for the service of a search warrant stemming from an investigation which began on November 30, 2020. While on scene, 34-year-old Rusty Shull of Ketchikan was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The warrant stemmed from the earlier investigation.
During service of the Search Warrant at the residence Troopers located narcotics, drug paraphernalia and items linked to narcotics sales and distribution. As a result of the investigation approximately 13.2 grams of methamphetamine, 1.15 grams of heroin, $1,329.00 US currency and a recovered stolen firearm were seized.
Shull was transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center, where he was held on $10,000.00 bail for the original felony offense of misconduct involving a controlled substance in the 3rd degree and the misdemeanor offenses of misconduct involving a controlled substance in the 5th degree and violating his court ordered conditions of release.

Alaska State Troopers contacted Michael Jessen (32Y/O) at the scene of a traffic collision. While in contact with Michael Troopers discovered that he was in violation of his conditions of release related to alcohol consumption. Michael was arrested for violating his conditions of release and remanded to KCC without incident. Michael provided a PBT. Sample of 0.132 BrAC to Troopers. Further investigation revealed that Michael had two bottles of alcohol in a backpack he was wearing, which was also violations of his conditions of release.

Alaska State Troopers were called to Vallenar View Trailer Park for a report of a male armed with an axe and a knife that was chasing a female and others in the park threatening and attempting to kill them. Upon arrival Troopers located the suspect, Calvin Edwards (24 Y/O) at an adjacent trailer from where the incident was reported. Troopers located the victim who had been able to escape Calvin and hide until Law Enforcement arrival. After investigation and interviews, Calvin was arrested for one count of Assault 3 Domestic Violence and one count of Assault 4 Domestic Violence. Calvin was transported to Ketchikan Correctional Center. Alaska State Troopers were assisted by the Ketchikan Police Department and United States Forest Service.
