Location: Ketchikan

Type: Warrant Arrest, VCOR

Dispatch Text:

On 01/25/2022 at about 2343 hours, the Alaska State Troopers contacted a suspicious male on Ketchikan Lakes Road.  Investigation revealed that the male Roderick May, age 40 of Ketchikan had an outstanding warrant for his arrest reference PTRP.  May was also found to be on Felony Probation and listed as an Absconder.  Further investigation revealed that May was violating current conditions of release set by the Ketchikan Courthouse by being in possession of drug paraphernalia and alcohol.  May was transported and remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center with bail set at $5,000.  AST would like to thank Ketchikan Police Department and the Saxman VPSO for their assistance and fast response.

On 01/27/2022 at about 2216 hours, the Alaska State Troopers contacted and arrested Daniel O'Sullivan, age 39 of Ketchikan at Mountain Point Boat Launch.  O'Sullivan was found to have an outstanding arrest warrant reference the original charges of Assault in the 4th Degree DV and Criminal Mischief in the 4th Degree.  O'Sullivan was transported and remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center with No Bail.

Type: DUI, Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test

On 01/28/2022 at about 2018 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a vehicle which drove into the ditch at mile 7 of the North Tongass Highway.  Investigation revealed that Kolbe Pollock, age 31 of Ketchikan was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.  Pollock was arrested for DUI and subsequently charged with Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test.  Pollock was transported and remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center,  AST would like to thank the concerned citizens who called AST, and 49th Security and Purdy's Towing for their fast response and assistance.

Location: Sitka

Type: Fail to Record on Fish Ticket

Dispatch Text:

On 1/24/22, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Sitka Post, contacted Ryan S. Andrews, age 43 of Sitka following a commercial salmon offload at a local processor.  Investigation revealed Andrews had retained two king salmon on board his commercial vessel which had not been reported on the fish ticket as required.  Andrews was cited for failing to record personal use fish on the fish ticket.  An arraignment is set in the District Court at Sitka.

Type: Warrant Arrest

On 1/27/22, at 1212 hours, Deryk Lepoidevin, age 38 of Juneau, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court on the original charge of Assault in the 4th Degree.  Lepoidevin was lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center on $200.00 bail.

Type: Prostitution Operation

 The Alaska State Troopers Special Crimes Investigation Unit (SCIU) conducted multiple prostitution patron stings in Fairbanks and Anchorage in January 2022 resulting in charges against 22 men that attempted to solicit sex. Troopers posed as women soliciting sex for money during the operation and contacted the men when they arrived at various locations in each community.

Alaska law prohibits payment for sexual conduct under AS 11.66.100(a)(2). All 22 men contacted during the operation were charged with the Class B Misdemeanor of Prostitution.

“Prostitution is not a victimless crime, and is often financially intertwined with sex trafficking, drug trafficking, violent crimes, and sexual assault,” said Colonel Bryan Barlow, Director of the Alaska State Troopers. “Your Alaska State Troopers are committed to investigating and working with our law enforcement partners to hold accountable anyone who victimizes Alaskans. The Alaska State Troopers are planning additional operations in the future to help reduce demand for these illicit services across the state.”

During the Fairbanks operation nine men were contacted and ultimately charged.

Type: Assault 3rd on Police Officer, Warrant Arrest

On 01/29/2022 at approximately 0945 hours, AST with a K-9 travelled to the village of Tyonek via state aircraft (Helo 2) attempting to contact, Joseph Standifer (44), of Tyonek for several active felony arrest warrants. Shortly after arriving in the village Standifer was observed driving a Chevrolet Suburban away from the airport. AST observed the vehicle stopped in the road a short distance from the airport. Standifer started to drive away and continued to drive for approximately one mile before stopping in the middle road where he exited the vehicle with a shotgun. Standifer took a position of cover near the front of the Chevrolet. While being given verbal commands Standifer loaded a round into the chamber, walked to the other side of the vehicle and was seen holding the shotgun. Eventually Standifer gave up and was taken into custody for the warrants and one count of Assault in the Third Degree on Police Officer.
