On 12/6/16 at approximately 1320 hours, Alaska State Troopers on Prince of Wales Island contacted the driver of a 1988 Ford Tempo near mile two of Boundary road in Klawock. The driver was identified as Thomas Owen, age 61 of Thorne Bay. Investigation revealed that Owen was operating the vehicle without a valid operator’s license. Owen was issued an Alaska Uniform Citation to appear in court for the charge of No Valid Operator’s License.

Type: Conviction: Over-limit of Sea Cucumber Divers per Vessel / False Information on ADF&G Fish Ticket

On 11/29/16, Ronald Blake, age 46 of Cordova pled guilty in the Prince of Wales District Court to one count each of having an over-limit of commercial divers harvest sea cucumbers from one vessel and submitting false information on a Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G) fish ticket. He received a total fine of $20,000 with $10,000 suspended and placed on probation for a period of two years. The convictions stem from an investigation by the Alaska Wildlife Troopers Prince of Wales Post during the month of October in 2015.
