On 06/29/2019 at about 2044 hours, the Alaska State Troopers contacted and arrested Walter Forsberg, age 19 of Ketchikan in the 2500 Block of Tongass Avenue. Forsberg had an outstanding warrant for his arrest reference the original charge of PTRP. Further investigation revealed that Forsberg was actively on Felony Probation reference the original charge of Possession of Child Pornography and was found ins possession of several items in violation of his rules of probation. Further charges are pending search warrant application. Forsberg was remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center with No Bail

Updated: On 6/30/19 at approximately 1946 hours, Andrew Allas, age 22 of Ketchikan, called 911 to report that Carrie Pase, age 43 of Rockwall Texas, had fallen approximately 500 feet down a slide located near the Carlanna Lake Trail and was not responsive. Allas performed CPR for approximately 1 hr. 20 minutes prior to Ketchikan Volunteer Rescue Squad (KVRS) arriving on scene. All life saving measures were unsuccessful. On 7-1-19 KVRS was able to remove Pase from the scene. Next of Kin for Carrie Pase has been notified. Allas was escorted off the trail with minor injuries.

Type: Take Black Bear without harvest ticketsDispatch Text:
On 07/1/2019, Mio Rhein, 45 YOA of Ketchikan, was cited by Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Ketchikan Post, for talking a Black Bear without valid black bear harvest tickets. Rhein was cited after investigation revealed he had taken a Black Bear in Unit 1a on 03/30/2019 without obtaining valid black Bear harvest tickets. Bail is set at $170 in the Ketchikan court.

Type: Commercial Trolling closed watersDispatch Text:
On 7/01/2019, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Ketchikan Post, cited Norman Jackson, 61 of Ketchikan, for commercial trolling for King Salmon in closed waters. Jackson was cited after he was contacted while commercial trolling aboard the F/V Indian Summer near Giant point on Mary Island. Investigation revealed Jackson had retained seven King Salmon in waters closed for retention of King Salmon. Arraignment is scheduled in the Ketchikan District Court on 9/03/2019.

Type: Theft 2nd Degree, Criminal Trespass 2nd Degree, VCOR x2Dispatch Text:
On 07/03/2019 at about 2243 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a call from a vehicle owner who found an unknown male in their vehicle parked at Bugge Beach. The owner of the vehicle later determined that several debit and credit cards were stolen from her purse. AST responded and located the suspect who was identified as Gabriel Falzarano, age 38 of Ketchikan. Falzarano was found to still be in possession of items of the victim. A search of the area was conducted and the victims stolen debit and credit cards were later located hidden in the area were Falzarano was found. Further investigation revealed that Falzarano was violating current conditions of release set by the Ketchikan Courthouse by consuming alcohol. The original charges stem from VCOR and PTR. Falzarano was arrested and remanded to Ketchikan Correction Center for Theft in the 2nd Degree, Criminal Trespass in the 2nd Degree, and two counts for VCOR with No Bail.

On 7-5-19 at about 0940 hours, the Alaska State Troopers in Ketchikan were notified of a burglary. Investigation revealed that sometime between June 26-July 5 unknown person(s) entered a cabin on Gravina Island causing about $200.00 in damage and removed property with an estimated value of $270.00. Type: Fail to Stop at Direction of Peace Officer 1st Degree, Reckless DrivingDispatch Text:
On 07/05/2019 at about 2250 hours, the Alaska State Troopers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a small dirt bike traveling northbound on the South Tongass Highway with no headlights or taillights in dark area of mile 2 of the South Tongass Highway. The driver of the dirt bike refused to pull over and continued traveling at a slow speed through the city for about three miles and was observed not stopping at stop signs and at times traveling down the opposite lane of travel. AST discontinued stopping the vehicle due to safety reasons but located the dirt bike shortly later at the end of Front Street on the dock. The driver Lamont Singleton, age 23 of Ketchikan was found hiding behind a large mooring anchor on the dock. Singleton was arrested for Failure to Stop at the Direction of a Peace Officer in the 1st Degree, and Reckless Driving. Singleton was remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center with No Bail. AST for like to thank Ketchikan Police Department for their assistance with the investigation.
