M/V Lituya Breaks Down

Sources report that the M/V Lituya had an engine failure en route from Hollis to Ketchikan and was able to limp back on one engine. A story similar to the recent IFA M/V Prince of Wales that also had engine troubles just a few weeks ago. The M/V Lituya was helping with service to Prince of Wales while the Inter-Island Ferry Authority was undergoing repairs to its vessels.

This is an on going story and will be updated as news comes in.

Lituya sailings for June 13-15 are canceled due to a mechanical issue, according to the Department of Transportation. The Lituya is expected to return to service next Thursday, June 18.
