Fiber Cut in Canada Slows Down Internet in Ketchikan

Customer Alert:
8:00 pm:
KPU is experiencing an outage on one of its internet paths which is resulting in reduced speeds. We have engineers and technicians on site and are working with our downstream providers to correct the issue as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience while we work through the issues.

Update 10:15 pm: a fiber cut has been identified in Canada at one of our downstream internet providers who is assessing the extent of the damage on that path. We will continue to update.

Update 10:50 pm: KPU engineers have shifted internet bandwidth to allow residents improved speeds while the fiber repair is being conducted in Canada.
