Type: Burglary-I, Theft-II

On 10/31/16 at approximately 1330 hours, Alaska State Troopers on Prince of Wales Island received a report of burglary and theft from a Southeast Roadbuilder crew trailer near the community of Hydaburg. The complainant reported that at some point during the past two weeks, an unknown individual entered the company’s crew trailer that was located at their job site near mile 7 of the Hydaburg road, and stole approximately $3,000.00 worth of appliances and fixtures from the residence. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the Alaska State Troopers POW post at 907-826-2918.

On 10-27-16, Alaska Wildlife Troopers Prince of Wales Post cited Cloudy Fanning (23 YOA) of Klawock for attempting to take a Sitka Black Tail deer by shooting from the highway. Bail is set at $310 in the Prince of Wales District Court.

On 11-02-2016 at approximately 2223 hours, Alaska State Troopers in Klawock were notified by the Thorne Bay VPSO of a gunshot wound victim currently being transported via ambulance from the Sandy Beach area of Thorne Bay to the Alicia Roberts Clinic in Klawock. AST investigation revealed that a 29 year old female had been removing a firearm from the rear seat area of a vehicle when the gun went off. The bullet struck the female in the leg. The female was treated at the Alicia Roberts Clinic and expected to be medivaced with serious leg trauma.

Type: Driving in Violation of Restricted License

On 11-02-16 at approximately 1830 hours, Alaska State Troopers on Prince of Wales conducted a traffic stop on a white Ford pickup at a pull out near MP 18 Klawock-Hollis Hwy for equipment violations. Investigation revealed the driver, Trevor Killian 27 YOA of Thorne Bay, was operating the vehicle in violation of a license restriction. Killian received a summons for Driving in Violation of Restricted License and was released. The vehicle was secured on scene.

On 11-04-16 at approximately 0830 hours, Prince of Wales AST was advside Dolores Medina, 28 YOA of Klawock, was currently at her father's house in Klawock in violation of her conditions of release reference a DV crime. Investigation revealed Medina had violated her conditions of release. Medina was arrested on VCOR and remanded to the Craig Jail.
